Exploring Texas: Ray Roberts State Park

The weather has cooled down here in Northern Texas, and we couldn't be happier!  We're getting older I think, because we're looking forward to a mild winter this year!  Coming from Utah, the winters can get very cold, and depressing; we've never been involved in winter hobbies, which only makes Utah winters seem long.  We're excited for weather that allows us to do what we love to do:  Explore!

Today we decided to take the afternoon and travel about 30 minutes north of us to Ray Roberts State Park, which is in Valley View and Pilot Point Texas, depending on what side of the lake you're on.  We had such a fantastic day exploring all around the park and lake.  Today we went on several walks, found an Osage orange tree (the fruit looks like a green brain), spent time on the beach, saw several deer, saw real live long horn bulls, and drove through the most beautiful country we've seen in a long time!  Here are some pictures from our day!

We're loving Texas!  We hope everyone had a great weekend!
