Exploring Texas: Austin and San Antonio

Joseph and I love taking one tank vacations; yesterday we took a one and a half tank vacation to Austin and San Antonio.  Our trip was two fold in purpose; we wanted to drop off our flyers to a few booksellers we've been in contact with, and we wanted to visit Joseph's Aunt Kim and good friends the Jones family.

We stopped in Waco on our way to Austin to see the Freemason Grand Lodge of Texas.  The Grand Lodge was absolutely beautiful!  However, the Ogden Utah Freemason lodge will always be my favorite; Joseph and I were married there!

Our next stop was Austin!  We visited a couple booksellers and then spent some time on Congress street.  The only way I can describe Congress street is quirky with a hippie vibe.  The Texas state capital is located at the end of Congress street and is built out of pink granite!  The building is huge and absolutely beautiful!  Austin was crowded, hot, and sticky yesterday; we didn't stay there long, but we'll visit often.

Our last stop was San Antonio!  We visited The Alamo, Joseph's Aunt Kim, and ate dinner with Sheila and her lovely children; we had a blast!  It felt good to see family and friends; we're not alone in this big state of Texas!  We quickly drove by the LDS temple on our way out of town, and started our trek back to Dallas!

I love our road trips so much; we always enjoy great conversation, set goals for our future, discuss our current projects, and see beautiful cities along the way!
