Over the past four or five years Joseph has restored over 40 1830 First Edition Book of Mormons. Most of the first editions he's worked on are from a dear friend and rare book dealer extraordinaire, so if you're interested in purchasing one, let us know; we'll hook you up!
Because Joseph has worked on so many first edition Book of Mormons he makes the most amazing and period accurate facsimiles.
The above photo is an 1830 first edition Book of Mormon, after Joseph restored it. No book ever looks exactly the same - the beautify of hand-bound books - but all of them have certain tell-tale similarities that let you know you're looking at a true 1830 Book of Mormon, such as: A diamond wrinkle pattern in the text block, signatures are sewn two-on on two recessed cords, a speckled blue text block edge, and a sheep skin binding.
Our 1830 Book of Mormon facsimiles are beautifully and authentically made!
We offer our facsimiles to the public through our Etsy shop HERE. They are made to order, and lead time is about 3 - 4 weeks, but worth the wait! If you're attending the Mormon History Association (MHA) conference in San Antonio this June, we'll be there offering a discount on our facsimiles and our letter press title pages too!
