Crossing the Bench: "De Lingva", printed in Florence, 1621.

Historical binding of "De Lingva", printed in Florence, 1621.

This book was still in its publisher wraps when it came to Eidolon House. Since it was printed in Florence, an Italian binding style was the perfect decision for this historical rebind.

We sewed the text block, bound it in alum tawed pigskin, applied an Italian style blind tooling design, and cosmetically aged it to look sympathetic to the old pages of the text block. Sounds simple enough right? But, the whole project took almost 20 hours.

We loved how this binding turned out, and look forward to doing others like it in the future.
